As a practising Quantity Surveyor for over 40 years I have particular expertise in quantum matters, interpretation of contract documents, deciding entitlement and evaluating claims under the contract and applicable law.  I have particular expertise in the various FIDIC and MDB contract conditions.

Since 1991 I have specialised in the resolution and avoidance of disputes, and now act entirely as a Dispute Board member on major infrastructure projects worldwide.  I have extensive experience of the practice and procedures of Dispute Boards and have been included on the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators since 2012.  During this time I have sat on many international Dispute Boards, including as Chairman or Sole Member.

My project experience encompasses roads, bridges, reinforced concrete structures, water/sewage treatment plants, hydropower plants, pipelines, marine works, sea defences, overhead power lines, tunnelling and rail.

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, Member of the Society of Construction Law and Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (USA).

In addition to being an accredited Dispute Board member, I am also a listed Expert with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, an accredited Adjudicator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an accredited Expert Determiner with the Academy of Experts.  I also act as an assessor for the Academy of Experts in their expert determination course.

I regularly lecture and present workshops on construction claims and the workings of international Dispute Boards.
